Prior to advertising or selecting a faculty candidate, the department must have Dean's approval for the recruitment.  The FRIS packet submission deadline is 5 pm on Tuesday to be presented to the Recruitment and Retention Committee on Thursday.

To obtain the Dean's approval:

Prepare a FRIS Packet (ONE PDF):

  1. Faculty Recruitment Information Sheet (FRIS) signed by the department chair (and Center, Institute, or Program Director, if providing financial support)
  2. For replacement positions, include documentation of the existing faculty member's planned departure (e.g., resignation letter, notice of non-renewal, Step Down Letter for end of an administrative appointment)--even if previously submitted to OAA.
  3. For new clinical positions only, include a pro-forma showing profit/loss over a 3-5 year period.
  4. For clinical positions with Physician Services Contract (PSC) support, include a signed PSC Change Form or email confirmation from the hospital to document hospital funds commitment (new or change).

- Give the packet a brief, descriptive file name, e.g., FRIS-Med-Trauma-Repl Smith, or FRIS-Neuro-Midtown-New.

* Submit the complete FRIS packet as ONE PDF to Monique Ogarro and copy Arberetta Bowles by 5 pm on Tuesday to be presented to the Recruitment and Retention Committee on Thursday.

Approval

After approval by the Recruitment and Retention Committee, OAA will e-mail the position number to the requester.

The approved position is valid for 18 months.  If the search is not completed within 18 months, either an updated FRIS (refresh) must be submitted for approval of an additional 18 months, or the position will be closed.

After FRIS is approved:
