Download the application from the link below, complete it, and submit it with all required attachments directly to the Preventive Medicine Residency Program. All materials should be sent to the Program Coordinator, Lauren Schmand, at lschmand@som.umaryland.edu.
Preventive Medicine Residency Program Application
Eligibility (Applicants must qualify through one of two tracks)
Track 1: Fourth-Year Medical Student - ERAS Program Code: 1252380A0
- Fourth-year medical student applying to a preliminary year program and to preventive medicine training in the same match year.
- If applying through this track, you must apply simultaneously for a transitional or preliminary year residency program. We are not linked to a transitional or preliminary program. Some programs meet this requirement that are geographically in close proximity include:
- Internal Medicine at UMMC Midtown transitional position (9992300049)
- Internal Medicine at UMMC preliminary position (1252140P0)
- Internal Medicine at Greater Baltimore Medical Center preliminary position (1241140P0)
- Preliminary Medicine Residency Program at Mercy Medical Center
Track 2: Prior Residency Training - ERAS Program Code: 1252380R0
All applicants must also:
- Be a graduate of an accredited medical school.
- Be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Maryland.
- Meet Graduate School minimum requirements, including:
- Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0
- Submission of MCAT or GRE score reports
Financial Support
- Stipends are set by the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC). They are the same for all residents at the same level of training.
- Tuition and fees are covered.
- Travel to a national public health meeting such as the American College of Preventive Medicine Prevention Meeting.
