Academic Activities and Responsibilities

Welcome to the University of Maryland Department of EM.

Being here for 5+ years, I can now say that being a part of the EM/IM program really has been an amazing experience. Both departments really prepare you well, and provide all the tools for becoming a competent and efficient physician. I moved here from New York, and have found Baltimore to be enjoyable and a fun city. All of my fellow residents, nursing colleagues, and attendings have helped to make me feel comfortable here at Maryland. There really is a great relationship among all of us. There is time to have some fun, play basketball, and spend time with each other outside of work.

I have since decided to pursue my interest in critical care, and will be completing an extra year as part of the EM/IM/CC program.

I am happy to answer any questions you may have, about Baltimore, the EM/IM program, critical care, choosing a residency program.
