Academic Activities and Responsibilities

I am a Rockville,MD native who returned to the Maryland area specifically for the combined emergency and internal medicine program. The training I have received exceeded my lofty expectations and I feel comfortable whether I choose to practice in an academic or community environment. I have had the opportunity to lecture to the medicine, emergency medicine, and even in national forums with the mentoring of the staff here which is one of many opportunities afforded to residents here. I also had the unique chance to spend a month in Capetown, South Africa rotating through a University trauma department as part of a sponsored externship here at Maryland. I have no regrets in completing a 5 year combined residency as I look forward to many academic possibilities in the future.
