Academic Activities and Responsibilities

Hello All!

It has been a long road to residency, and I absolutely LOVE being at the University of Maryland. I started medical school thinking that I wanted to be a surgeon, but then I had an "ah-ha!" moment during my first shift in the emergency department. No where else in the hospital am I happier or more engaged in my work. Of particular interest, I want to practice pediatric emergency medicine. Being in the pediatrics/emergency medicine combined program provides the greatest amount of dual training for this purpose. I am so excited to be at the University of Maryland where I am going to receive top training in both fields, and to be living in Baltimore which combines great cultural activities, sports, restaurants, and easy access to other great cities. I will be raising my daughter in Baltimore as I complete my residency, and I really cannot imagine a better place to do so. ;-)
