Given our current volume of 189 beds across 10 adult intensive care units at the University of Maryland, our critical care fellows have ample opportunity to gain experience managing the most complex and interesting patients in the intensive care unit.

Each critical care fellow will participate in a total of 9 months in the various intensive care units, with the remaining 3 months on elective rotations such as:

• Echocardiography

• Infectious disease

• Cardiology

• Nephrology

• Palliative care

• Liver transplant anesthesia
