The Baltimore VA Medical Center is the acute medical and surgical care facility for the VA Maryland Health Care System and offers a full
range of inpatient, outpatient, and primary care services.
The Department of Anesthesiology is a dynamic and progressive clinical care center that is dedicated to providing safe, quality and compassionate patient-centered care to Veterans in Central Maryland and on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. To ensure the provision of outstanding perioperative care the department employs a dedicated team of healthcare leaders, clinicians, technicians, and administrative staff specially trained to serve the unique needs of Veterans.
The department has 14 affiliate agreements and provides education and clinical training to residents and trainees from anesthesia, medicine, surgery, pulmonary medicine, dental, oral surgery, podiatry, nurse anesthesia and nursing. The department also provides didactic instruction for University of Maryland SOM, SON, SOP, and SOD.
