UMSOM Hosts 2025 Helrich–Matjasko Annual Lecture

The Department of Anesthesiology hosted the 2025 Helrich–Matjasko Annual Lecture on October 22, honoring Professors Martin Helrich and M. Jane Matjasko. This year’s guest speaker, Shiqian Shen, M.D., of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, presented “Pain in the Head—Neural Substrate of Pain in Mice,” highlighting his groundbreaking research on pain mechanisms. The event brought together faculty, trainees, and guests for an evening of scientific discussion and community engagement.
