Promotion in rank to Associate Professor or Professor, and/or achieving tenure from the tenure track
Deadline: November 4, 2026

- Read through the Guidelines- PR to Associate Professor and Professor, FT (rev. 7-28-25) before beginning to obtain materials for this promotion.
- Checklist- Promotion to Associate Professor and Professor, FT (rev. 10-8-25) may help you track your progress.
- Ensure that all criteria listed have been met before submitting the completed packet to the OAA.
- Promotions at these ranks take four to six months to complete, as they are reviewed by the OAA, APT Committee, Executive Committee, School of Medicine Council, President and the Dean.
- Do not send an electronic copy of the candidate’s CV until you are notified by OAA. Be sure to keep track of the final version (in Word format) as requested revisions are made.
Moving to the Tenure Track at the current rank of Associate Professor or Professor (will not be done simultaneously with a promotion in rank)

Assistant Professor - Non-Tenure Track*

- Be aware that faculty promotions at this rank will take one to two months to complete, as they need to be reviewed by the OAA, School of Medicine Council, EVPAA, and the Dean.
