ESMCC aims to increase access to care by providing Medication Assisted Treatment for individuals with Opioid Use Disorders in underserved, rural communities to maximize access to life-saving treatment and develop a model of care that can be adopted by other underserved, rural areas with similar needs.

Who can use these services?

Anyone with an opioid-use disorder who is seeking treatment, in the counties of Caroline, Talbot, or Queen Anne's.

Is there a fee?

We accept Medical Assistance or self-pay.

What is the response time?

Response will be based on patient and community need. We are not a 24-hour services. Our clinic is open for calls Monday through Friday 8:00 am till 4:30 pm.

How long are sessions?

The Mobile Treatment Unit, staffed by a nurse and peer recovery specialist will typically spend 1-2 hours at patients’ houses.

What information will I need?

Patients should bring their insurance card and an MVA-issued ID for proof of identification.  Patients will also need to have this proof of identification to pick up their medications from the pharmacy.

Is the Mobile Treatment Unit available during inclement weather?

The Mobile Treatment Unit may operate during periods of inclement weather including rain, snow, sleet, etc. Decisions to ground MTU operations will come from either the Health Officer, Director of Behavioral Health, or Clinical Supervisor with the Health Officer holding ultimate authority of these decisions.

Where is the Mobile Treatment Unit located?

The Mobile Treatment Unit will be based out of the Caroline County Health Department in Denton, MD, and will be used in locations throughout Caroline, Talbot, and Queen Anne’s County.
