Bringing Women's Health Research into the Future

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences research focus is on structural birth defects, fetal programming, placental development and inflammation, ovarian cancer, substance abuse .  Our mission is to have a meaningful impact on the healthcare in our communities and our research environment promotes collaboration and multidisciplinary research.  With the spectrum of disciplines on campus there are numerous opportunities in research and training in the basic, translational and clinical sciences.  The University of Maryland School of Medicine is invested in growing current and future investigators/researchers and offers training through the CARTI program to support all researchers in the academic environment throughout their career.
