Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences
Douglass Alumni Society
Louis Harriman Douglass, MD
Established in 1958 to honor Dr. Louis H. Douglass, the Douglass Society comprises former residents and faculty from the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. This society was formed in 1958 by unionizing two existing societies: "Dougtricians" and "The Obstetrical and Gynecological Society of the University of Maryland." Members of the alumni society have access to various events and opportunities for continuing learning, as well as chances to give back to the next generation of medical professionals. The Alumni Society fosters goodwill and friendship while advancing the interests of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Maryland.
Douglass Alumni Society Annual Meeting
During the Society's Annual Meeting, graduating residents and fellows are presented with certificates of completion and welcomed as new members. They also learn how the department thrives in its mission to improve women’s health. This meeting allows the department to express gratitude to individuals who have contributed significantly to the Department.
