Connect with Peers and Stay Accountable!
CARTI hosts peer mentoring groups throughout the year to help UMB research faculty members stay accountable for research and professional goals. Each peer mentoring program runs at least three consecutive months with two meetings per month. Each meeting runs for one hour and follows a structured agenda focused on professional goal setting.
Peer mentoring helps with:
- achieving milestones
- improving project and time management
- troubleshooting challenges and obstacles
- celebrating successes
- establishing a supportive research community
CARTI offers two types of peer mentoring groups: Peer Mentoring and Multi-R01 Peer Mentoring.
Spring 2026 Peer Mentoring:
January 26- March 23, 2026 (5 sessions total)
CARTI's Peer Mentoring program is designed for early-stage UMB research faculty members who have completed an individual development plan (IDP) and have at least 20 percent protected time for research. In addition to discussing how you're achieving your short-term research goals, these group sessions provide a forum for troubleshooting challenges you may face along your career path.
All meetings are held on Zoom with a structured agenda. Consider participating as early in your independent research career as possible. Prior to signing up, review your career goals with your mentor(s) and department chair.
To participate in Spring 2026, sign up by completing the form below by January 20, 2026.
Meeting dates/times will be arranged based on the availability submitted by faculty in their sign-up forms.
