This is a template for the SPINlab Hyperpolarizer, which can be used in the "Facilities and Other Resources" page of NIH applications. Before using this template, please contact your collaborator to ensure the information is correct and up to date.
"Hyperpolarization of 13C-labeled substrates will be performed using a GE SPINlab DNP system within the Center for Metabolic Imaging and Therapeutics on the premises of the University of Maryland Medical Center. The system can simultaneously polarize up to 4 samples and is operating at 5 Tesla and 0.8-1 K. SPINlab, which is fully automated with mechanically controlled vacuum and dissolution systems, can produce, in a sterile manner (using a disposable, sealed sterile fluid path) and after filtering the trityl radical, sample sizes of up to 50 mL of 250-mM 13C-pyruvate suitable for human applications. An important feature, in particular for clinical use, is a quality control module that measures pyruvate and residual radical concentrations, pH, temperature, infusion volume, and polarization without compromising the sterile barrier."
