Renew Your R01, Apply for Another, or Both?

Fall 2025 Multi-R01 Peer Mentoring
September 30 - December 9 (6 sessions)
CARTI's Multi-R01 Peer Mentoring Program is designed for currently funded UMB research faculty members who are preparing to renew an independent research grant (NIH R01 or equivalent) or who currently hold independent research funding and are preparing to apply for a second or third research grant. These group sessions include senior research faculty who share insights about grant renewal and branching out secondary or tertiary (or beyond) projects.
Sessions are a mix of in-person and Zoom and will include writing sessions, peer review of specific aims, moderated discussions with senior UMSOM research faculty, and opportunities to discuss research career progression. Consider participating during Year 2 of your current NIH R01 (or equivalent), when you have sufficient preliminary data to inform an NIH R01 grant application, and/or when you have a solid Specific Aims page and you're writing the rest of the grant application.
