The 43rd annual MSRD was held in the afternoons of Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13, 2020 virtually through Zoom.
The event began with opening remarks and keynote address at 1:00 p.m. on Day 1, continuing with special presentation from outstanding student researcher at 2:00 p.m. and student presentations at 2:30 - 5:20 p.m. on Day 1. On Day 2, the event continued with special presentations from outstanding student researchers at 1:00 p.m., student presentations at 1:50 - 3:10 p.m., and special student research panel at 3:20-3:55 pm. The event concluded with the Awards segment at 3:55 - 4:25p.m. where faculty mentors and student presenters award recipients were recognized.

This year's keynote speaker was Matthew B. Frieman, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, UM SOM COVID-19 and respiratory virus expert.
Attending and Participating in the Event
Event attendance is open to the entire UMB campus. UM SOM faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend the event.
Presentation Registration & Abstract Submission
To present and compete at MSRD, eligible medical students interested in participating must 1) register their presentation and then 2) submit the abstract by the deadlines below. Registration and abstracts will be submitted electronically through online forms that will be provided.
