Daniela Franco, Graduate Student, Department of Neurobiology, received a travel award at the Society for Neuroimmune Pharmacology (SNIP)’s May 2026 conference held in Annapolis, MD.

Jimmy Olusakin, Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Neurobiology, also received the best Postdoctoral Fellow Poster Award at the Society for Neuroimmune Pharmacology (SNIP)’s May 2026 conference in Annapolis, MD.

 


 

Grants

Samantha Scott, Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Neurobiology, has been awarded an F32 fellowship from the National Institutes of Drug Abuse for her project "Mitochondrial Regulation of Structural Plasticity in Ventral Hippocampus-nucleus Accumbens Projection Neurons and Cocaine Seeking after Prolonged Abstinence from Self-administration.”

Robert Bloch, PhD, Professor, Department of Pharmacology & Physiology, was senior author of "Dysferlin's C2A Domain Supports Normal Ca²⁺ Signaling and Membrane Repair in Dysferlin-Null Myofibers," which was published in the Journal of General Physiology on May 14, 2026.

Florence Doo, MD, Assistant Professor, Department of Diagnostic Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, was the first author of “Alignment of Policy, Practice, and Patient Safety for Trustworthy AI in Radiology,” which was published in Radiology: Artificial Intelligence in May 2026. Epub ahead of print. Separately, Dr. Doo was among the co-authors of “Mapping the Complexity of Cancer Screening and Multi-Disciplinary Care Coordination in Safety-Net Systems,” which was published in May 2026 in the Journal of the American College of Radiology. Epub ahead of print.

Sarah Helman, MD, and Aaron Stonestorm, MD, PhD, are the authors of "Morphologic and Flow Cytometric Features of Menin Inhibitor–induced Pseudoprogression in KMT2A-Rearranged Acute Myeloid LeukemiaKMT2A," which was published in Blood on May 28, 2026.

Hyun Kim, MD, MHS, Professor, Department of Diagnostic Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, was the last author of “Retrospective Clinical Studies in Interventional Oncology: Relevance and Challenges,” which was published in May 2026 in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology.

Bo Li, PhD, Research Associate; Yiran Li, PhD, Assistant Professor; Xiao Liang, PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow; Lucas Lemos Franco, BS, Research Fellow: and Ze Wang, PhD, Professor, all with the Department of Diagnostic Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, were among the co-authors of “Multiple-TE Based Blood-Brain-Barrier Water Exchange Time Measurement Using a TE-Resolved 3D TSE Stack-Of-Spirals Readout,” which was published in Magnetic Resonance in Medicine on May 30, 2026. Dr. Bo Li was the first author and Dr. Wang was the last author.

Thomas Longden, PhDThomas Longden, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology & Physiology, was senior author of "A Pericyte Chloride Clamp Mechanism Governs Capillary Control of Cerebral Blood Flow,” a study led by Liuruimin Xiang, Graduate Student, which will be published the week of June 8, 2026, in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Ahmad Munir, DO, PGY4; Justine Zhang, MD, Neuroradiology Fellow; Nadine El Hoyek, MD, Chief Resident; and Prashant Raghavan, MD, Professor, all with the Department of Diagnostic Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, were the co-authors of “Imaging Perspectives on Hydrocephalus: CSF Flow, Glymphatic Function, and Clinical Implications in the Diagnosis and Management of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus,” which was published in May 2026 in Seminars in Roentgenology. Epub ahead of print. Dr. Munir was the first author and Dr. Raghavan was the last author.
