The University of Maryland School of Medicine greatly values the contributions of our postdoctoral scholars to our research enterprise and intellectual community. In addition, one of the goals of the Office of Postdoctoral Scholars is to build a sense of a postdoctoral community and connect postdoctoral fellows on campus.
We recognize and appreciate all things postdoc every September during Postdoc Appreciation Month, culminating with a postdoc retreat and keynote speaker.
We host numerous social events to build community throughout the year. These include monthly Coffee and Cookies for postdoctoral fellows, joint social hours with postdocs from neighboring institutions, game nights, and other social events.
We’re always in need of suggestions for events and speakers, so let us know if you have any ideas!
