Community Health Workers: A certificate for 5.5 CEUs will be awarded upon completion of this conference.
Continuing Medical Education (CME): The AAFP has reviewed 20th Annual Maryland Tobacco Control Resource Center Best Practices Conference and deemed it acceptable for up to 5.50 Live AAFP Prescribed credit(s). Term of Approval is from 10/23/2025 to 10/23/2025. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.
Counselors/Therapists: A certificate for 5.5 CEUs of Category A will be awarded upon completion of this conference. University of Maryland School of Medicine has been approved by the Maryland State Board of Examiners as an authorized sponsor who may provide Category A CEUs for certified or licensed professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and alcohol and drug counselors. University of Maryland School of Medicine maintains responsibility for the program.
Social Workers: A certificate for 5.0 CEUs of Category I will be awarded upon completion of this conference. University of Maryland School of Medicine has been approved by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners as an authorized sponsor who may provide Category I CEUs for social workers. University of Maryland School of Medicine maintains responsibility for the program.

Tobacco Health Practice
The Maryland Tobacco Control Resource Center is proud to be partnered with the UMMC Tobacco Health Practice.
The UMMC Tobacco Health Practice at the UMMC Midtown Campus's Center for Pulmonary Health offers comprehensive care for lung disorders, including asthma, COPD, bronchitis, and interstitial lung disease. Additionally, the UMMC Tobacco Health Practice provides treatment for tobacco use and vaping to patients aged 16 years and older.
Breaking the Habit in Behavioral Health Training
The Maryland Tobacco Control Resource Center is disseminating a training program (developed by MDQuit) titled, “Breaking the Habit in Behavioral Health" for behavioral health providers across Maryland. The training is for clinicians working in the behavioral health field. We can offer CEUs for social workers, mental health counselors.

Tobacco Resources
Most people don’t quit smoking alone. They require support coming from multiple sources. Every quit plan is unique to the individual, and people should have the freedom to choose from many options. MD TCRC has come up with a list of places to turn to.
