Ciheb-Nigeria Receives Award of Excellence from the US CDC

Ciheb-Nigeria recently received the US CDC award of excellence in data system design and surveys in recognition of its contributions towards the implementation of the National AIDS Indicator and Impact Survey (NAIIS) and re-designing the National Data Repository (NDR) for improved data management to strengthen the HIV response in Nigeria.

The award was presented to the team at the Biannual Program Performance Review Meeting and End of Project Cycle Symposium Awards Presentation in Abuja, Nigeria, in October 2022. The NAIIS remains the biggest HIV-focused survey conducted in Nigeria, with a significant impact on the control of the HIV epidemic in the country. With direction from the findings on NAIIS, Ciheb-Nigeria further supported Nigeria’s drive towards HIV epidemic control by revamping the NDR for more reliable HIV data management. The re-designed NDR continues to be utilized for data storage to facilitate evaluations and decision-making to guide interventions on the PEPFAR HIV program.
