Dr. Ejaz will spend her fellowship year at Aga Khan University in Karachi Pakistan under the mentorship of Professor Rumina Hasan MD, PhD and Professor Janet M Turan PhD. Her research will focus on the assessment of community interventions to improve linkage, retention and reengagement in HIV care for Pakistani sexual and gender minorities: a qualitative enquiry.

Dr. Ejaz is an Assistant Professor at Aga Khan University. Her goal is to conduct research that reflects experiences of the vulnerable sub-groups (i.e., sexual and gender minorities) with the ultimate hope to contribute to a sustainable change in terms of furthering human rights and social justice. Dr. Ejaz wants to understand and address stigma and discrimination as sexual and gender minority relate to a variety of health conditions/services, and she intends to incorporate qualitative research methods in the context of rigorous mixed methods research designs in her future research projects.
