Dr. Zope will spend her fellowship year at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Malawi under the mentorship of Dr. Bip Nandi, MBBChir, FRCS, Dr. Lily Gutnik, MD, MPH, and Dr. Jed Nuchtern, MD  Dr. Casey McAtee, MD. Her research will focus on A Pilot Feasibility Study of Telehealth Follow-up Program for Pediatric Surgical Patients in Malawi.

Dr. Zope is a General Surgery Resident at University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Zope is interested in pediatric surgical capacity building and outcomes research in LMICs. She hopes to focus her efforts on pediatric general surgery and pediatric solid tumors. Dr. Zope has been involved with student global surgery groups through medical school and residency, her efforts have been largely focused on global surgery education. She continues to mentor medical students interested in global surgery worldwide.
