Maryland Parkinson’s Disease Center
Maryland Alzheimer’s Disease Program
The Maryland Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center, a division of the Department of Neurology, is a full service Diagnostic Center for Parkinson's disease and related disorders and includes the University of Maryland Alzheimer’s Disease and Neurodegenerative Disorders Program. This program focuses on Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias. The staff includes neurologists, a neuropsychologist, and nurses with experience and expertise in these disorders.
Center for Neuromuscular Disease
The Neuromuscular Disease Program has an active in-patient and out-patient service in clinical neuromuscular disease. Muscle and nerve biopsies are processed in the Neuropathology Laboratory and discussed in a neuromuscular conference. Special lecture series include neuromuscular pathology and electrophysiology.
The Maryland Epilepsy Center is a tertiary referral center for evaluation and treatment of seizure disorders in adults and children. Of particular interest are seizures that are either difficult to diagnose or intractable to medical therapy.
Division of Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology
This program has been developed over the past decade as a site for comprehensive care and innovative research into the cause and treatment of M.S.
Rehabilitation Medicine is a Division of the Department of Neurology. Specialized research programs are being developed in the rehabilitation of stroke, head injury, spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis patients.

The Maryland Stroke Center is a regional center of excellence in stroke care and research.
The Maryland Brain Attack Center
The Maryland Brain Attack Center's Brain Attack Team is a 24 hour/7 day a week multispecialty team developed to rapidly evaluate and treat patients with vascular causes of neurologic disorders.
