Presentations, Events, Lectures & Workshops:

Emily DeMarco, graduate student in the Program in Neuroscience and the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology, delivered two invited lectures at meetings in California this November. She presented at the Giant Synapse Symposium held at UCSD and at the 3rd annual West Coast Super-Resolution Workshop held at Scripps Research. The topic of her talks was “Single-molecule imaging of presynaptic adhesion molecule PTPσ near sites of synaptic vesicle fusion.” She then also presented the work as a poster at the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting held in San Diego. 

Thomas Blanpied, PhD, Professor and Vice-chair, Department of Pharmacology and Physiology, presented an invited lecture at the 2nd annual Neurotechnology Conference at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center in October. The topic was “Nanoarchitectural regulation of NMDAR-mediated synaptic transmission.”

Robert J. Bloch, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Physiology, presented an invited talk at the University of Manchester, UK, entitled “Dysferlin and the Regulation of Calcium Signaling in Skeletal Muscle" on December 2, 2025.

Publications: 

Bradley E. Alger, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus, Department of Pharmacology and Physiology, was the invited author of “Notes on the History of In Vitro Hippocampal Electrophysiology and LTP: Personal Reflections,” which was published in Hippocampus on October 30, 2025.
