On November 5, 2020, UMSOM Dean Reece and Women in Medicine and Science held a virtual event announcing a special tribute fund honoring Dr. Nancy Ryan Lowitt

The entire School of Medicine community has lost one of its most beloved friends and colleagues — someone who influenced every part of our academic mission and touched the hearts of everyone. The event payed tribute to Dr. Lowitt’s legacy with the announcement of the Nancy Ryan Lowitt, MD, EdM, Faculty Development Fund.

Dr. Lowitt was a trailblazer who always worked tirelessly to ensure equality, diversity, and inclusion in our culture. She was an inspirational role model for our faculty, staff, and students. Most of all, she was one of the most caring, compassionate, and selfless people who will be deeply missed.
