Vacation

Residents receive 15 paid vacation days plus a number of Federal holidays off. One additional week of holiday time is granted over the week of Christmas or New Years. Approved conference days will not be counted towards your 15 annual days of vacation.

Resident Breakfast in Chicago

  • Book funds and sponsorship of continuing education credits
  • Funded registration, travel and support to attend/ present at meetings such as the ASTRO Annual Meeting, ASCO, ARS, ABS, RSS, SNO, and PTCOG
  • The Department of Radiation Oncology hosts an annual elegant-dress Holiday Party for all employees plus a guest, a family Summer Picnic, and at least four departmental happy hours each year. Additionally, the residents enjoy other department-sponsored social events througout the year such as the Annual ASTRO Alumni and Friends Event, the Annual Resident Graduation Dinner, Friendsgiving, a Summer BBQ, life-event celebrations for new babies and weddings, and plenty of resident happy hours.
  • Supported fund for publication submission fees

Resources

The University of Maryland Health Sciences and Human Services Library (UMHSHSL) is available for resident use. There is also a resident library that maintains an extensive collection of journals and books.
