Vacation, Salary and Benefits

Residents receive 15 paid vacation days plus a number of Federal holidays off. Our departmental policy is that the Chief Resident and the Attending for whose service the resident is responsible at the time of the vacation request must first approve time away. No more than four residents can be out of the clinic at any time (this includes residents who are out of the clinic on electives). Approved conference days will not be counted towards your 15 annual days of vacation. Salary information can be found on the GME website.

The Department of Radiation Oncology hosts an annual elegant-dress Holiday Party for all employees plus a guest, a family Summer Picnic, and at least two departmental happy hours each year (currently on-hold due to COVID). Additionally, the residents enjoy other department-sponsored social events througout the year such as the Annual ASTRO Alumni and Friends Event, the Annual Resident Graduation Dinner, Friendsgiving, a Summer BBQ, life-event celebrations for new babies and weddings, and plenty of resident happy hours.
