Robert Bloch, PhD, Professor, Department of Physiology, presented a lecture to students at University College, London, by Zoom on February 8, 2024, entitled “Xenografts of Skeletal Muscle to Study Muscular Dystrophies.”

Publications

Robert Bloch, PhD, Professor, Department of Physiology, was corresponding author of “Optimization of xenografting methods for generating human skeletal muscle fibers in mice” in Cell Transplantation.

Alexandros Poulopoulos, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology and UM-MIND, was the last author of "India Ink to 3D Imaging: The Legacy of Dr. Deepak 'Dee' N. Pandya and his Influence on Generations of Neuroanatomists," which was published as the cover article in the December 2023 issue of the Journal of Comparative Neurology. Dr. Poulopoulos was also among the co-authors of “Nedd4-2-dependent Regulation of Astrocytic Kir4.1 and Connexin43 Controls Neuronal Network Activity,” published in the Journal of Cell Biology on November 30, 2023.

April 2024

Publications

Carmen Mannella, PhD, Adjunct Professor, Department of Physiology and Center for Biomedical Engineering and Technology, was co-author of “PMF-seq: a highly scalable screening strategy for linking genetics to mitochondrial bioenergetics,” which was published in Nature Metabolism on February 27, 2024.

Brian N. Mathur, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, was a co-corresponding author on “Pathological claustrum activity drives aberrant cognitive network processing in human chronic pain," which was accepted for publication in Current Biology on February 20, 2024.
