Please see the answers to some of our most common frequently asked questions below:

1. What are your prerequisites for admission?

Our prerequisites can be found under Application Information.

2. Do my prerequisites need to be completed all at the same institution?

No, you may complete your prerequisites across multiple institutions. Please make sure to provide your transcript for each institution with your application.

3. Do all of my prerequisites need to be completed in person or may some of them be completed online?

We accept courses completed in person, online, or in a hybrid format.

4. Can an exception be made if I completed some/all of my prerequisites more than 9 years ago?

No, we cannot make exceptions for any student due to the competitiveness of our program.

5. Do you require shadowing as part of the application?

We do not currently ask students to demonstrate shadowing experience at this time. However, shadowing is highly valuable to see the career of a PA, and we highly recommend students partake if possible.

6. Can you review my transcript to make sure I fulfill all of the required prerequisite courses?

Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we cannot review transcripts at this time.

7. Where can I access University policies and procedures?

The University of Maryland Baltimore's Policies and Procedures are most easily accessed through the Policy and Procedure Library: https://www.umaryland.edu/policies-and-procedures/library/.

8. Is there any way I can see the PathA Program Student Handbook?

Yes! If you are interested in seeing our student handbook please contact us directly.
