Ambulatory Rescheduling
The Ambulatory requirement can be met by completing one of the following courses; all require approval from the Ambulatory Course Director:
- AMBL 540 – Co-registered with an approved on-campus elective; Catalog tag ‘Ambulatory’
- AMBL 541 – Off Campus Ambulatory rotation
- AHEC 548 – Eastern, Western, Central Maryland, or Out of State AHEC (Maryland AHEC Information)
- FAPH 540 – Indian Health
- ICME 543 – Ambulatory Global Health
After the initial M4 scheduling process is completed, any changes to the Ambulatory Rotation schedules require approval from the Ambulatory Course Director and/or Administrator.
Students may not drop a current Ambulatory requirement unless a replacement course is added at the same time.

AMBL 540-On Campus
AMBL 540 (On-Campus)
To reschedule current ambulatory requirement using an on campus elective, please complete the following steps:
- Login to the MedScope Catalog* for access to the course tags and availability
- Search for AMBL 540 and check Course Availability for the rotation of interest
- Identify electives with an Ambulatory tag and check the course availability
- Complete the Ambulatory Change Request Form
- Dr. Millstein will review and either approve or decline the request according to availability
- Students whose request is declined will receive an email notification (often within 48 hours)
- Within 48h of submitting the Change Request Form, use the Add/Drop form to request add approval from the elective administrator
- Once the elective has been approved and added to MedScope, the Ambulatory Marker (AMBL 540) will be added to your schedule in the same rotation
Notes:
- The Ambulatory Marker is required to receive Ambulatory Credit for graduation.
- The clinical schedule begins in late April in rotation 11 of the Spring term and continues through rotation 10 of the following spring, be sure to check dates to be certain you are using the correct academic year.
AMBL 541-Off Campus
AMBL 541 (Off-Campus Ambulatory)
Up to two spots are available in off-campus ambulatory locations with either Dr. Saba or Dr. Talwar. Students must have experience with the location to be considered for the course.
- Login to the MedScope Catalog* to check Course Availability
- Contact Dr. Saba or Dr. Talwar directly to check their availability
- Complete the Extramural Rotation form; proof of preceptor acceptance will be required
- Indicate the Ambulatory Course Director (Dr. Millstein) as 'Faculty approver' on the form
- Complete the Ambulatory Change Request Form
- Complete the Add/Drop form

AHEC 548
AHEC 548 (Eastern, Western, Central Maryland and Out of State)
AHEC is offered on the Eastern Shore and Western Maryland. There are limited spots available in Central Maryland also. Students can also set up Out of State AHEC.

- AHEC is offered in 4 locations - E: Eastern, W: Western, B: Central or X: Out of State
- Complete Ambulatory Change Request Form
- Dr. Millstein will review and either approve or decline the request according to availability
- Students whose request is declined will receive an email notification (often within 48 hours)
- Within 48h of submitting the Change Request Form, use the Add/Drop form to request add approval from the elective administrator

FAPH 540-Indian Health
FAPH 540 (Indian Health)
Indian Health is offered through the Indian Health Service. Additional information can be found under Ambulatory Scheduling.
- Communicate plans with both Dr. Leah Millstein and Dr. Katherine Jacobson
- Complete the Extramural Rotation form; proof of site acceptance will be required
- If the course is satisfying the ambulatory requirement, indicate Dr. Millstein as Faculty approver
- If the course is not satisfying the ambulatory requirement, indicate Dr. Jacobson as the Faculty approver
- Complete the Ambulatory Change Request Form
- Complete the Add/Drop form
ICME 543-Global Health
ICME 543-Global Health
- Complete the Extramural Rotation form; proof of acceptance will be required
- Indicate the Ambulatory Course Director (Dr. Millstein) as 'Faculty approver' on the form
- Additional paperwork is required for international rotations as noted in Special Approval/International Rotations
- Complete the Ambulatory Change Request Form
- Complete the Add/Drop form
