Genomics Technologies Enhance Biological Discovery to Improve Human Health
Our work spans scientific disciplines, pioneering genomics technologies to deepen understanding of the molecular foundations of biology and human health across the lifespan. IGS research tackles fundamental challenges in human health throughout biomedical science, spanning from infectious diseases and reproductive health to cancer, aging, and neurodegeneration. We further this mission by developing and applying cutting-edge multiomics, microbial, and cellular profile approaches to drive biological discovery, enable disease prevention, and accelerate the development of new treatments.
IGS researchers share a genomics‑enabled systems biology approach to enable discovery across biological scales. We leverage genomics technologies to uncover the interplay between molecular, microbial, cellular, tissue, organism, and populations. This framework connects faculty groups with specialized research areas of cancer genomics, human and population genomics, microbial systems, microbiome science, and neurogenomics.
