Study with IGS: Graduate Opportunities with Us!
IGS faculty mentor students from multiple PhD and master's graduate programs at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. While graduate students come to IGS through different pathways, including the MD/PhD program, most come through our Graduate Program in Life Sciences (GPILS) where IGS is the home for the Genome Biology Track within the Molecular Medicine PhD program. IGS also has a T32 grant--Systems-Level Research in Microbial Pathogenesis--that supports two graduate students and two postdoctoral fellows each year.
IGS offers a learning environment enriched by strong mentorship, weekly internal meetings to discuss research, scientific strategies, and new grants, along with a variety of specialty journal clubs and hackathons. In addition, IGS postdoctoral fellows participate in robust campus-level organizations and have excellent success rates for receiving F, T, and K grants.
