Research Cores

A strategically informed portfolio of Centralized Research Cores (Shared Services) are the backbone of the School’s research infrastructure.

Cores provide investigators fair-priced, easy-access to the services, instrumentation, supplies and human expertise needed to support the research mission and the School the ability to maintain a cutting-edge yet sustainable research infrastructure.

A full listing of Core Resources can be found on the Center for Innovative Biomedical Resources (CIBR) website.

Please contact Tom McHugh, MS, Director, Research Cores Administration or Nick Ambulos, PhD, Scientific Director, CIBR:

  • When a faculty recruit is visiting campus to arrange for a tour of the Research Cores.
  • To assist with the vetting of instrumentation requests from existing faculty or potential recruits.
    • CIBR may already have the requested technology available or may be willing to arrange a cost-share so that other investigators can benefit from any unused instrument capacity.
  • For utilization and financial data related to the Cores in support of grant applications and/or reporting requirements.

PI’s, lab members and administrators can contact Tom McHugh or Janet Meyer with any questions related to the use of CIBR’s iLab portal
