Comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program

The Division of Psychiatry Services Research has partnered with the Division of Community Psychiatry to launch a comprehensive DBT program. DBT is an evidence based treatment that has been shown to reduce depression, improve emotion regulation, and decrease suicidality. If you experience painful emotions, challenging relationships, or have a history of suicidality, DBT may be the right fit for you.

DBT is a time-limited treatment program that includes the following components:

  • A DBT skills training group, where you will learn new and effective skills for managing your emotions, relationships, and life in general.

  • Individual therapy where you will work on building self-understanding, goal-setting, and applying these DBT skills to improve your life and emotional well-being.

  • Phone coaching, which means you can call your DBT therapist between therapy sessions for help with difficult situations.

The DBT program is located at the Walter P. Carter Center at 701 W Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD, 21201. We accept both public and private insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare.
