Dr. Tom Blanpied awarded the John F.B. Weaver Professorship in Physiology

On March 3rd, the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology celebrated Dr. Tom Blanpied at the Investiture Ceremony marking his appointment as the John F.B. Weaver Professor in Physiology. This endowed professorship, the oldest fellowship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, recognizes Dr. Blanpied’s exceptional contributions to medical science and education.
“Dr. Tom Blanpied’s installation as the John F.B. Weaver Professor in Physiology reflects the high regard in which he is held by his peers and the broader medical science community,” said Dr. Stuart Martin, Chair of the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology. “This distinguished professorship is a fitting tribute to his enduring contributions and will support his continued efforts to advance our understanding in the field of physiology.”
The Investiture Ceremony brought together colleagues, students, and community members to honor Dr. Blanpied’s achievements and celebrate his ongoing impact on research, teaching, and mentorship.
