John Hamlyn, PhD, Professor in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology and Drug Development presented three lectures at the University of Sao Joao Del Rei in Divinopolis, MG, Brazil, in early September. The topics were  “Endogenous Ouabain: Assay Systems and How One Looks Determines What One Sees… and What One Does Not”; “Discovery of Endogenous Ouabain and its Isomers”;  “Natriuretic Hormones, Ouabain, Sodium Pumps, Common vs Secondary Hypertension and Pregnancy. Evolving Ideas and Concepts Together with Marvelous and Misleading Theories.”

Publications

Matt Trudeau, PhD, Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Drug Development, was the last author on “Inhibition of hERG K channels by verapamil at physiological temperature: Implications for the CiPA initiative” which was published in the Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods on September 26, 2024.
