Title: Urethrorrhagia

  • syndrome of hematuria at the END of urination
  • evidenced by spotting of blood in underwear
  • occurs only in boys
  • may last up to a year or longer
  • symptoms are usually intermittent and recurrent
  • physical examination is normal
  • renal ultrasound usually helps rule out structural anomalies, but will usually be normal
  • self-limited, with no specific therapy other than reassurance
