The University of Maryland School of Medicine Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development (OFAPD) supports faculty in achieving their career goals. OFAPD offers annual courses and programs to foster collaboration and to develop faculty in all aspects of their academic pursuits. We provide resources for faculty wellness in close collaboration with EAP. Faculty Development

The Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development

  • oversees a comprehensive faculty development program;
  • offers professional development opportunities for physicians planning careers in academic medicine, including programs for Women in Medicine and Minority Faculty in Medicine;
  • provides continuing medical education for faculty and community physicians on Cloud CME.

Professional Development and Leadership Lecture Series (PDLLS)

The PDLLS is designed to provide education centered around enhancing leadership skills and competencies and assisting with preparing faculty for more senior roles. Some of the topics/categories include:

  • leadership essentials and basics
  • organizational management and leadership
  • emotional intelligence
  • time management
  • problem-solving
