Financial support is vital to launching new projects and bright young researchers on their careers, to sustaining research momentum, and to recruiting and retaining world-class leadership in biomedical research. It is also an affirmation of the future — to develop improved treatments, limit suffering, and find cures for a myriad of diseases.
The opportunities for near-term clinical impact are particularly compelling for heart disease, Parkinson’s Disease, cancer, sickle cell anemia, and spinal cord injury, among the many human ailments where stem cell research could help develop breakthrough therapies.
