General Clinical Research Center (GCRC)
The GCRC is open and has resumed visits for all clinical research protocols
The General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) is the cornerstone for clinical research within the University of Maryland. The GCRC supports the full spectrum of patient-oriented research.
The GCRC is available to all University of Maryland investigators who have a need for Center resources and who will conduct clinical research of scientific merit. Studies funded by federal sources, foundations, industry and other sources are welcome. The GCRC welcomes pilot studies that may lead to future peer-reviewed clinical research.
The GCRC can provide investigators with the resources they need to conduct clinical research, including and the facilities for inpatient and outpatient data collection and patient care, as well as a state-of-the-art DEXA Facility.
GCRC Advisory Committee (GAC) Meeting Dates & Application Deadlines
The GCRC Advisory Committee (GAC) meets the third Tuesday of each month. The deadline for submission of applications is two weeks before the meeting.
Once we receive a GCRC application, the protocol is assigned to a primary and secondary reviewer, as well as a biostatistican for review. The PI is expected to briefly present their protocol at the GAC meeting. For more information regarding the GCRC application, click here: Application Process
