MD/Master's Programs
For admissions information and detailed information about these programs, please visit: MD/Masters Programs
Students may apply and be admitted to the Master’s dual-degree programs pre-matriculation or post-matriculation.
Requirements for the combined MD and Master’s degrees are similar to those of the separate degrees of the Doctor of Medicine of the School of Medicine and the Master’s Program. All of the dual degree programs have a component that meets the goals and objectives of the FRCT Scholarly Project component of the Doctor of Medicine curriculum. The dual degree program is designed to be completed within five years.
The MD is combined with a Master’s program offered in the following areas: Public Health, Clinical Research, Cellular & Molecular Biomedical Science, Health Professions Education, Clinical Informatics, Bioengineering (at UMCP), Health Administration (at UMCP), Public Policy (at UMBC) and Business Administration (at UMCP).
Medical School policies apply to all students while enrolled in the MD portion of any dual degree or joint program. SOM teaching faculty and administrators are provided access to medical school policies on the OSA website and the academic handbook.
