P/F Grading and Online Formats, MCAT Exams and Interviews

(Updated January 6, 2022)

  • We want to reassure you that online format courses are accepted for any course (including course requirements) indefinitely starting from the Spring 2020 semester.
  • We want to reassure you that P/F grading is accepted from Spring 2020 through Summer 2021 semesters.  Although we may have a preference for letter grading in required courses, your application will still be given a holistic review and thoughtful consideration without letter grades during these four semesters.
  • We continue to have an increased window of MCAT scores and will accept MCAT scores beginning January 2019 through September 2022.
  • To relieve the financial burden and risk travel presents, we will continue to conduct all 2023 cycle interviews virtually. We will continue to keep these interview experiences meaningful and interactive so that applicants are able to engage with students, faculty and staff from our institution.

The AAMC has provided tips for a successful remote interview, which we hope will be helpful for you on your UMSOM interview day.
