The Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health (CVD) will be offering its bi-annual Vaccinology course (PREV 627) this spring semester, starting January 23, 2019

The course consists of a series of lectures on a variety of topics in the area of vaccinology including:

  • strategies for vaccine development
  • pre-clinical evaluation
  • human clinical trials
  • current immunization schedules
  • the economics of vaccine development and public health intervention.

Special lectures will address highly debated issues of current interest such as vaccine safety, public perception of vaccines, and emerging infectious diseases (i.e. Ebola and Zika). Lectures are presented by experts in the field recruited from industrial, academic, and government institutions.

Classes will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the HSF II Auditorium. CVD faculty, staff and fellows are strongly encouraged to attend. This is a unique opportunity for those interested in the field of vaccinology to acquire up-to-date knowledge in this area.
