Antimicrobial Stewardship

Antimicrobial Stewardship (ASCOT) is a multidisciplinary effort to improve best practices in antimicrobial prescriptions, minimize unintended consequences such asASCOT mascot emerging antimicrobial resistance and adverse drug events, and optimize patient outcomes.  

The Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Outcomes Team (ASCOT) at the University of Maryland Medical Center includes faculty within the Institute of Human Virology, School of Medicine, and School of Pharmacy.
