Training and Education

Patricia Widra, MD, Director of the Women's Mental Health Program, and Lauren Carpenter, LCSW-C, greet attendees and pass out pamphlets at the University of Maryland, Baltimore Health Fair.

Interdisciplinary Discussions
The Women’s Mental Health Program coordinates monthly interdisciplinary and interdepartmental educational meetings on various topics including IPV, the use of antidepressants in pregnancy, and more.

Additionally, the program offers cross-collaborative educational opportunities with a range of topics presented during Grand Rounds and informal sessions for the Departments of Pediatrics, OB/GYN, and Family Medicine.

Lectures
Reproductive psychiatry lectures are incorporated into didactics for Psychiatry PG2, PG3, PG4, and fellowship programs.

Electives
The program offers a Consultation/Liaison Fellowship elective that focuses on working with inpatient OB services. In addition, a PG4 elective is available to those interested for 4-8 hours per week in the Women’s Health Care clinic and Center for Infant Studies (3-6 months).
