Having practiced Cardiology at the University of MD Medical Center since completing Cardiology Fellowship in 1984, I have seen tremendous advances in the treatment of patients with coronary artery and other forms of cardiac disease. Medical, surgical, and interventional therapies in the treatment of coronary artery disesase have come a long way. Each of these approaches has advantages and problems, and the recommendation for therapy can be difficult. An understanding of the merits and issues with each approach helps most people decide which approach is best in their circumstance.
