Biosketch

Sunni Houston Scott, O.D., F.A.A.O, joined University of Maryland Eye Associates in 2009, as Faculty and Clinical Instructor in Optometry. She graduated from Maryvale Preparatory School in 1999 with honors. In 2003, she received her B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience at Washington College, graduating Cum Laude, Psi Chi Sigma Xi and Omicron Delta Kappa, while playing both field hockey and lacrosse. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry at New England College of Optometry in 2008 with Beta Sigma Kappa and a scholarship for clinical excellence, followed by a Residency in Ocular Disease at the Baltimore Veterans Medical Center.  She then completed her Ocular Disease Fellowship for the American Academy of Optometry in 2011.   
 
Dr. Scott specializes in the management and treatment of Primary Care and Ocular Disease, including, but not limited to, glaucoma and diabetes, and eyeglass and contact lens fittings.  
 
She is an Adjunct Clinical Faculty Member at New England College of Optometry and Salus University PCO, as well as the Clinical Education Program Coordinator for 4th year Optometry students.   She is also the Medical Director of the University of Maryland Optical Center, downtown location.   
 
Dr. Scott was born and raised in the Baltimore, Maryland area and takes great pride in caring for her fellow neighbors and their family and friends. She has recently joined forces with Vision Interchange, a non-profit organization striving to grant everyone the ability to afford glasses and to help underserved Baltimore communities with vision healthcare.  
 
If you've ever encountered Dr. Scott, you know she also takes great pride in raising her two beautiful daughters, Saylor and Ridgely, and her chocolate lab, Huckleberry, with her husband, Lance.
