Biosketch
Born, raised and attended medical school in Rochester NY. Dual internal medicine and psychiatry residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. Lived in Maine for 24 years, first as practicing academic psychiatrist with focus on consultation liaison, pain management and geriatric psychiatry for 14 years, then as primary care traditional internist at an Adventist Hospital in Brunswick ME. After raising 4 children to adulthood left Maine and did fellowship followed by appointment in Palliative Care at University of Virginia from 2014 to 2017. Pursued an interest in geriatics, health care reform and public policy along with medical ethics through my entire career. Hospitalist since 2017 with academic appointment here at UMMC Midtown in 2019.
