Dr. Schwartz returned to Maryland after seven years at Johns Hopkins where he Attended in the Burn Unit and Surgical Critical Care Unit as well as functioning as the Medical Director of the Preoperative Evaluation Center.
With a special interest in teaching both in the classroom and at the bedside he was awarded by being inducted in the Miller Coulson Academy of Clinical Excellence. With the majority of research directed towards End of Life Care and Medical Ethics the focus of recent publications has been directed towards Palliative Care in the Critical Care Setting and the education of physicians in end of life care.
