Dr. Reifel Saltzberg is an assistant professor and Chief of Emergency Medicine at UMMC Midtown Campus. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She then began an international EM fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center. In her time in fellowship, she lectured in South Africa, China, Chile, and Netherlands. She assisted with a teaching course in Haiti and executed a sepsis quality improvement project in Chile. After completing fellowship she stayed as faculty at University of Maryland and expended her interests to administration. Current academic interests include quality improvement, knowledge translation, international health, sepsis care, and substance abuse.
