Dr. Katya Prakash obtained her medical degree in 2014 from Thomas Jefferson University. She completed her residency and fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of California, San Diego. She remained at UCSD another year to pursue a concentration within oncology and transplant infectious diseases. Her clinical interests focus on the identification and treatment of infections within immunocompromised hosts. She has a special interest in health services research, specifically the use of HIV and HCV infected organs within transplantation to help combat the organ scarcity and medical education.
